List of representative recruits, 1864-1865.

During 1864-1865 the provost marshal oversaw recruitment activities on behalf of the Commonwealth. Primarily this involved efforts to recruit volunteers in the southern states, crediting them to Massachusetts and its municipalities. This series lists the names of principals (i.e., individuals purchasing substitutes for military service) and corresponding recruits.
